As a British English speaker in an American English environment, I arrive at new interactions knowing I will, first and foremost, be perceived as foreign.

Analog experiments
I’m quite tired of technology, quite aggrieved about the commercialisation of the internet. Occasionally I open a window without my adblocker and I remember this is what it normally looks like. Digital media too, is made, consumed and forgotten like fast food. So I recruited an old Pentax K1000 camera to slow it down. Shooting analog enforces limitations, encourages pause and consideration. It’s not immediate, not over before it’s begun. I like this. Here then is my first reel of black ‘n’ white Kodak T-Max 400 (for the photography geeks, you know who you are). Modestly tweaked in Lightroom (some of it was untweakable) all shots are included in the spirit of learning.
Everything is temporary
Hello. It’s been a while. I was enthusiastically deleting social media accounts recently but I liked some of the pics on the oldest instagram, so I downloaded my data before deletion. It was travel, mostly dating back to 2014 and heavily dusted with early-Instagram-filter-enthusiasm.
Hand Made Original
I met Garland Seggerman at a bus stop on the old Route 66. A tall, older gentleman, he was folded into rather than seated on the bench. He uncomfortably crossed and uncrossed heavy cowboy boots bookending legs long and straight like lodgepole pine. His face lit up with a warm smile as I sat down. I greeted him, and asked what he’d been up to today.
Tin foil hat
I survived a hundred degrees in blistering Roswell this month. It was my second visit. I was last at the UFO museum way back in 2000. Not a great deal has changed. Many photocopied documents and images are mounted on display boards, but there are a few new, weightier displays including a giant Gort from The Day The Earth Stood Still.
