“Interactive video object manipulation” from Adobe

I’ve struggled with the After Effects interface, as a novice user, to motion track objects in footage. It’s fiddly and time consuming. This video shows a demo of software to get similar results, but much more quickly and with an incredibly easy interface. Reminds me of the usability of simple 3d modeller Sketchup which was bought by Google. This example is not for pro compositors who will rarely need default effects offered (such as “fun” speech bubbles) but is interesting as it may lead to new interface options which might get rolled out into existing produts like AE.

An aside, video nerds, that intro footage with the man by the bridge has horrible over-noise-reduced audio. Ambient noise must have been terrible during the filming. You can hear how the vocals were filtered within an inch of their lives by his “metallic” voice.
