Analog experiments

I’m quite tired of technology, quite aggrieved about the commercialisation of the internet. Occasionally I open a window without my adblocker and I remember this is what it normally looks like. Digital media too, is made, consumed and forgotten like fast food. So I recruited an old Pentax K1000 camera to slow it down. Shooting analog enforces limitations, encourages pause and consideration. It’s not immediate, not over before it’s begun. I like this. Here then is my first reel of black ‘n’ white Kodak T-Max 400 (for the photography geeks, you know who you are). Modestly tweaked in Lightroom (some of it was untweakable) all shots are included in the spirit of learning.

Everything is temporary

Hello. It’s been a while.  I was enthusiastically deleting social media accounts recently but I liked some of the pics on the oldest instagram, so I downloaded my data before deletion. It was travel, mostly dating back to 2014 and heavily dusted with early-Instagram-filter-enthusiasm.

Hand Made Original

I met Garland Seggerman at a bus stop on the old Route 66.  A tall, older gentleman, he was folded into rather than seated on the bench. He uncomfortably crossed and uncrossed heavy cowboy boots bookending legs long and straight like lodgepole pine. His face lit up with a warm smile as I sat down. I greeted him, and asked what he’d been up to today.
